Acadian Handicraft Project records, 1939-1962.

Records consist of correspondence, business papers, promotional materials, financial volumes, registers, and scrapbooks of the Acadian Handicraft Project. Manuscript music and French songs are contained in a scrapbook. Louise V. Olivier's papers relating to the day-to-day operation of the project are included. Much of the material is specific to inquiries about and orders for handicrafts.

The goal of the Acadian Handicraft Project was to preserve the language, culture, and tradition of the French-speaking people of Louisiana. The project was launched in 1942 by the Louisiana State University General Extension Division. As a Division Field Representative, Louise ("Lou Lou") V.
